PornoDanceFight 1,805
Both are timeless works (and some of both artists’ best work), and the highs are just as strong across both records same with their lows; however, I gotta give it to Renaissance. The production is more dynamic, the track list is superb, the vocals clear a lot of the girlies, and I can listen to it top to bottom, no skips, which is a testament to how much a good listening experience it is. Plus, me and my friends have sang Renaissance at the top of our lungs together for years now, and that always makes me sentimental towards a record. That being said, Brat is a phenomenal record, and feels like a fun, nasty night out. Charli’s introspection sandwiched between hedonistic club beats makes it sound like a more authentic night out when you have the devil on your shoulder helping you make your bad decisions. Renaissance takes it for me. 5 1
thisboyisamonster 1,202
Renaissance for me, Brat has some good songs and I like the vibe, but to me it's too much of a vibe Vs a proper album. I also feel Renaissance has aged really well while Brat already sounds a bit dated 5
gagzus 20,060
They’re incomparable imo. But for originality I’m gonna say brat.
Gorehound 5,425
Both are top tier dance albums imo, and Brat has a seriously badass and clever visual aesthetic, but I find Renaissance way more tasteful and stylish overall. The harsh, almost soulless electronic landscape of Brat can get a bit wearing after a time, and I much prefer the more textured, multifaceted and soulful production style of Renaissance. Plus the added benefit of having an excellent vocalist killing it with intricate harmonies, and more depth overall with the exploration of black dance music throughout history. Brat feels like a collection of fun club hits, whereas Renaissance feels like a well crafted record and musical journey. But both are dripping in attitude. Ladle Ghoulash 44,105
IMO you have what is Beyoncé’s best record vs. a top 3 Charli record, so I’m gonna give it to Renaissance. Dude Break My Soul is borderline bottom of the list of great songs on Renaissance. Go ride that glitter horse hard now. 8
