monketsharona 57,959
This fanbase has a terrible opinion on how music is aging or not. Weren't you all saying for years TF/M is aging terrible while songs like LoveGame, Telephone, Just Dance, Poker Face are trending like almost every week on Tik Tok thanks to the young generation ? Or The Fame is still getting better streams on Spotify every year ? OT : Chromatica will age perfectly fine like the rest of her discograhy.
erfaan 2,754
Chromatica is heavily house inspired and house music has proved to be timeless.
tappy3 699
it has been aging perfectly so far. i still listen to the whole album every day
dubstep111 588
I would say no but I have to admit I can still listen to the album all the way through and that can’t be said right now for any of her other albums
MACATL 1,104
It was released “aged well” since its already a throw back to 90’s dance music.
Alvaro Moreno Ullrich 1,549
It is a solid work. It s a pleasure to go back and listen to it. ARTPOP cant relate
CyberRaga 342
Music can't age badly or well Honestly the whole concept was made by some boring ass stan twitter users to ''drag'' artists they don't like. Music is the closest thing we can get to time traveling: it reflects the society of a certain era. Chromatica doesn't necessary sound timeless (as in it could be released 20 years from now and still sound 'current'' although nobody knows how music will sound in 2040), but the lyrics and the whole theme of dancing your pain away can be seen as a great example of the beginning of 2020's (due to COVID). First of all, a lot of people on here only use this phrase to say that they personally don’t like a song anymore. And of course, a song that was released in the 80s, for example, sounds like it was released in the 80s. Why is that bad? same, I can't understand the concept at all Strike a pose ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍💖
SevenWonder 3,913
Good songs are good songs. Nirvana songs sound very grunge 90s. But I love the songs both because of - and in spite - of that fact. Ditto older Madonna songs. And MJ songs. And Beatles songs. Chromatica is similar to me.
OMF 3,151
I played both Chromatica and DOC to death. So sure, atm it’s not on my playlist but it kept me interested for a good for a long while so I’d call that successful. Same for Joanne which was the polar opposite in terms of sound, style and production. I do hope she finally gets the concerns going, recorded and released this time. Would love to have both albums and a live blu ray of TCB in a box set. And then let’s move on to the next era please!
monstertoronto 8,779
It’s already beloved and it uses house music which is a reference from the 90s. I agree it’s irrelevant using the word “dated” because so many old eras of music are popular again, and people keep mining older sounds to put in new songs (Weeknd and Charli) are leaning hard on 80s trying to make their songs sound like previous eras. “Dated” implies the only good sound is the current new sound and anything older is less good, but today it’s just what you like to listen to. I don’t think anything is dated.

I don’t think anything is dated. Exactly. And both Charli and The Weeknd used an even more 90s sound. Chromatica’s production though made it feel fresher and edgier and so did it’s style. Not everyone was a fan but that is what makes it stand out from all the 80s and 90s sounding songs out there now.
AnglerfishbraBENUS 5,636
Stupid Love already sounds 1 million times better than it did when it was released so we have factual proof ! I think the album will age exceptionally well if we get a very positive follow up release to match the dark and depressing nature of Chromatica's lyrics. Only then will we appreciate what spot Chromatica holds in her discography.
LadyEnigma 1,063
nope, some of the songs are already aging rlly bad *I've probably only played the album front to back like 4 times since release
