Do you think Chromatica will age well?

Will the beat still sound fresh or at least have a vibe where when you listen it won't feel so outdated and bad?

What do you think about the melodies too, will it stand the test of time?

I don't think so tbh, I think most of it sounded outdated on its release date.

The only song that might stand the test of the time is Replay imo

I don’t like the idea of music sounding “outdated” or somewhat less “fresh”. To me only lyrics can age badly with changing social norms. Music can encapsulate an era but we continuously reuse and relisten to past songs. We shouldn’t value something less because it encapsulates an era.

It’s going to be a fan favorite. It’s story will be talked about for years to come by fans - how the pandemic literally sucked the life out of Chromatica.

I can see Gaga adding the third and final “Night of Chromatica” EP to end the era/promote the tour.

The concept of „aging“ as far as music is concerned is so stupid. First of all, a lot of people on here only use this phrase to say that they personally don’t like a song anymore. And of course, a song that was released in the 80s, for example, sounds like it was released in the 80s. Why is that bad?

ROM still sounds fresh just like Applause. Gaga magic, but it won't be as timeless as Bad Romance/Shallow and ARUTW.

For example to me a song that aged badly would be

Meanwhile one song of Nelly that aged well is

it's not about the fact it sounds old, because some old songs aged like fine wine. It's something else, i can't describe it.

Night of Chromatica or Dusk of Chromatica would be an interesting concept to close out the era. Imagine us getting more unreleased content in the form of demos and unreleased tracks/remixes.

In any case I agree it’s going to hold up as a fan favorite. Not to compare it to Future Nostalgia, but Chromatica regardless of whether people loved it or hated it is an important album. Dropping at the height of a global pandemic, and right slap in the middle of a new wave of some very necessary civil and equal rights movements. 10 years from now people are going to reflect on everything that happened in 2020 and how this album helped people cope with the world feeling upside-down everywhere you looked.

I don’t think “outdated” is even relevant for music, especially since there is a resurgence of older songs hitting the charts again and it’s difficult for artists to create new hits.

Also, house music is considered timeless.

That’s subjective.

There’s times when I feel The Fame is outdated, then on the weekends when I’m cleaning I find it very fresh again. Same with BTW and ARTPOP.

So I guess it all depends on your mood and time. :vegas:
