Ok when she cried it was actually really intensely sad. This was a really a good interview, even though I felt like he interrupted sometimes and didn't get some things she was saying.

I watched the whole interview to maybe understand why I can't get into her music and it seems that she just didn't really have much of an identity or feel personally connected to her music until now.. And I am a spoiled pop consumer that has no time for that sooo :huntyga: Now I understand

I am also glad she is aware of and is actively trying to steer away from the pots & pans sounds that many people associate her with because of her collabs w/ AG Cook and Sophie.. good to hear she is now confident enough to really push her self and her music forward

she spilled! gaga really did have the foresight to play the game in order to establish herself but with her own artistic flair. we can see that all over her debut album which is like a marriage of pop music that hits all of the points of success in 2008 mixed with her own reference points and artistic vision which imo has made it stand the test of time

gaga for sure played the game, but so did every famous before and after her. you gotta do stuff that isnt exactly who you are.

She has been so hit or miss since that first amazing album, but now she is serving.

Powerful sexy woman. Stanning whether she likes gaga or not.

That said, Gaga was lost in those days, lost in pain and it was brilliant. Understanding your chaos is important.

I know people dismiss Just Dance as vapid radio fodder, and something she did just to get a heel in the door, but that really isn't true.

Just Dance wasn't on trend sonically, the lyrics (Lysol clean it/bleed it, spend the last dough, in your pocko) are something a drag queen Edward Lear would write. She was doing interpretive dance and the Charleston in origami dresses, wigs, and latex body suits. She had disco sticks and iPod glasses projecting her ARTPOP ethos.

Over time her budget expanded and her taste evolved, but from day one she was challenging what pop music was.

people downplay Just Dance's CULTURAL RELEVANCY AND IMPACT.

it IS a classic , up there with PF, BR, Shallow and BTW

what many people don't see in artists is that once they mature, that's the true gold era. just like in visual creative arts is that you don't get really reputable until you have had that great experience behind you.

I don’t think that’s true at all… she’s lived and breathed her music for 10 years. I think she’s saying she didn’t have confidence in who she was to be a big mainstream pop artist , not that she didn’t feel connected to the work itself
