The Kardashians are so hard to relate and simpathize with, I really don't understand how they became the pop culture juggernauts that they are.

You just explained it. They're hard to relate to, out of touch. They encapsulate Keeping Up With the Joneses, they're the escape from reality and a way to live vicariously, and they keep it simple. You either keep up with them because you want to be them (worry-free, capitalizing on EVERYTHING) or you just hate the image and brand they have created.

I don’t know why everyone’s offended by this statement. I as a woman agree eith her 100%. Also ofc she had a sex tape but everyone can have that, not everyone can make a billion dollars empire after having it. She is a business woman and she single-handedly made her family most famous family on this planet. Also women do need to work more. They need to fight fir those positions, for that money. I as a woman agree 100% with this.

Because she's a rich person who's acting like she knows anything about the working class, working 9-5 5 to 7 days a week just to pay rent. Should Kim be blamed for having this lifestyle? No. But should she be calling women lazy? Also no. She's effectively advocating for the erasure of the strides women have made in the last 80 years simply because she has no grounding to the average person's reality. Their marketing antics were comical when they were self contained among her family, they're insulting when she seeks clicks and views at the expense of an entire gender's platform.

Ofc but were they as rich as they are now. It’s like saying Gaga didn’t do any work because her family was rich as well when she was younger. All I’m saying is that women do need to work more because majority of the women I know are giving men too much power over their own lives.

Look, I see what you mean but I’m a woman and I’ve known many girls all my life. Majority of them st least here where I live are dependent on men an that’s something they all want. No one made them do it. I don’t think this is offensive coming from anyone because it’s the truth.

This, I'm not saying Kim doesn't work but the circumstances... she has her own empire, there's so much difference and it feels a bit rude how she says it.

Right message wrong messenger

HARD disagree on the "nobody wants to work" crap. That implies people are lazy and want handouts which just flat out isn't true. It's toxic af.

People don't want to work for nothing. They don't want to spend 39.5 hours making at or near minimum wage at a soul crushing job where they know the only reason they're not getting that extra 0.5 hours is 'cause it'd make them full time and they'd be entitled to benefits.

You know how many interviews I sit in on? Dozens every month. Dozens of people looking for work, wanting to work, but when they hear the sad excuse for employment we can offer to most of them, they take their resumes elsewhere. And they're right to do so.

And contrary to Kim and others' beliefs, no amount of hustle will get someone out of poverty 100% of the time. There are people who work their asses off, sweating every waking minute of the day, and they struggle to keep a dime in their pocket after providing the bare minimum for their own and their families' survival.

Then there's people who are rich just 'cause they're famous and get paid absurd amounts of cash that they don't deserve 'cause the only effort they put into their "careers" is being a dramatic idiot in front of a camera - be it a TV camera recording a stupid show about their overly complicated lives or a phone camera capturing the antics and irrelevant opinions of an "influencer".

I was in Kim's corner 'cause she's working on that law degree but if this is her delusional take on how a middle/lower class person would get ahead then maybe she should stay in her palace with the rest of her family of morons and leave liberating the working class to the working class.

"People don't want to work" omfg. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't she only famous 'cause she's related to someone tied with the OJ Simpson case and she f*cked a dude on camera and it got leaked? Lile, get tf out of here :saladga:

Keyword "women in business" she's not talking about the average woman that's why most of yall online can't relate.

All these instances of women working in retail or factories are so irrelevant to what she's saying  and it just shows that most of yall don't even listen before you jump to trashing someone

So you think the women that "can relate that aren't online", as you say, are a) watching the Kardashians instead and b) need business advice from them? If it's not aimed at the general public, it's aimed at small business owners at most. She also goes on to say it's putting in the work and seeing results, "it's that simple". However, that's not how reality works at all. Social media at this point is so crowded, people are incredibly unlikely to ever notice a small business. Kris acknowledges as much when she talks about the beginning of social media, of Twitter, of Instagram. Not only were they already rich and famous beforehand, but they had their way in in a space that was much much less crowded. There's people who put hundreds of hours into trying to make their business work alongside the massive expenditures associated with starting a brand only to see absolutely no result. At the very least her statement was extremely out of touch and it can be reasonably argued that it was downright insulting.

Is it what they want because culture has taught them that's the way to do it? Because they recognize the possibility that working as a woman in a patriarchal world is a uphill battle not worth fighting? Because they want to start a family? Or is it really just laziness? I don't believe majority of people are lazy simply because of the way our psychological rewards system works. And I also don't know where you're from so I can't say which factors might determine that outcome or how any of those women think so I can't say for certain the decision making process. But that brings up the very important fact that there is more than one perspective and more than one geographical location.

Edit: Did not mean to come off aggressive, so sorry if it comes off that way. But I do think these are all things to consider.
