I’m really sad it’s not an arena tour because stadiums, whether they’re baseball or football, always feel less intimate, have worse acoustics, and unless you’re in the GA pit the stage is always much further away :neyde:

Same.  The only reason I haven't seen Taylor yet is because I don't care for stadium concerts.  For me, the smaller and more intimate, the better.  I was thrilled to see Madonna in a venue 1/4 the size of an arena.  Same with Kesha.  That said, I hope everyone has a great time at the concert.  I know Gaga will slay.

I live outside the space time continuum.

I just Googled "stadium tour" and every single one that billed itself as such included several baseball stadiums. Hell, this dad-rock tour that's coming up is LITERALLY called "The Stadium Tour" and has its own Wikipedia page, and it's mostly being held at baseball stadiums. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stadium_Tour

OP made up something that never existed until today.

I think it would be against the trade descriptions act to call it a stadium tour if it wasn't at real stadiums. Baseball venues can be called ballparks but they are also called baseball stadiums. Some stadiums are merely smaller than others, it doesn't make them not stadiums, same with arenas. That's why we differentiate by citing them as small stadiums or large stadiums. Naturally, Gaga's demand is not as high in every area so that's why some are smaller than others. Wouldn't you rather she 100% sold out a 40k stadium than only sold 50% of a 80k stadium? What looks more impressive in photos and looks more impressive on a list of attendance ratios? You are the only one with this issue. That suggests it's only something that bothers you and no one else. Trust me, I don't think rival fanbases are going to be laughing at Gaga for not doing "proper" stadiums when very few artists can even do any tours right now, much less stadium capacity. Gaga's one of the few popstars around right now who actually has the demand for stadiums, so just have some perspective.

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

They're crap venues, but it's kind of a nice achievement for her, especially if she can sell out. Only a few artists do them. Plus, fewer dates so it's easier on her, and we know her tours can be stressful, so better she do fewer dates than none.

I imagine she'll bring a stadium-sized spectacle to justify it. :)

BTW, previous performers at the DC "Nationals Park" (yes, a baseball stadium) include Taylor Swift, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and Paul McCartney.
