Why is he complaining? Havn't we seen a MILLION films about boring straight cowboys? What's wrong with exploring something unique like a homosexual cowboy?

I had no intention of seeing this movie. Didn't know what it was about or really cared.

But there is gay cowboys?

Sign me up.

You know which other movie is about a gay lead character, Flee. It's supposed to be super beautiful about some escaping his homophobic country up until he married his husband in Denmark.

Oh...so Brokeback Mountain 2.0 :billie:

However it's sad that he feels this waythis not surprised as he's of a particular generation and age where I'd expect nothing less

It's just a matter if he wants to keep working if these are his views yet so many in Hollywood are LGBT...out or not lol

I think the problem with older actors who are partially accepting is the fact that gays aren't the stereotype they have in there heads. They can be super masc or super fem.and everything in between. Cowboys Racecar drivers. Truckers.

He probably thinks we are all fashion stylists or make-up artists, and should only be portrayed as Jack from Will and Grace. :lmao:

It's a move Sam, not a documentary. I don't know why he's taking it so personal, talk about an overreaction.

No, not really. Brokeback Mountain is about much more about a powerful connection between two men that allows who they really are to blossom. The Power of the Dog is about the dangers of suppression and denial of one's identity. The similarities start and stop with it being about cowboys, they go in two very different directions from there.
