Avril Lavigne says her next project will be an extension of ‘Love Sux’

In an interview with Billboard, Avril says she’s written so many songs that she may have enough for a follow-up project.

I wrote probably 30 songs [for this album], and I just feel like I’ll keep going. The next project I feel like, right now, would be an extension of this. This feels so good, and I have so much material, that I would want to continue.

She also mentioned that she was in the studio with Travis and they worked on the deluxe for Love Sux.

Makes sense if the music is reflective of her current state. From my understanding she started Love Sux coming from a failed relationship with the belief she’ll never find love but during the recording process she fell in love with Mod Sun, so perhaps she has material indicative of that experience.

I was looking through the “Love Sux” Twitter posts last night and she said that it’s a double album like she wanted to keep it as a surprise but just announced it. It might come sooner than we expect and that’s pretty fun.

She’s been wanting to do back to back albums for a while and something always comes up. Now that she’s signed to Travis’ record label she probably has more freedom to do these things.
