So I was just drinking with some friends and having a little dance party when I realized the timestamp in the Telephone video surveillance footage is 02/11/10. This may seem like a fairly innocuous date, but literally yesterday I'd been looking through Alexander McQueen's repertoire and realized... That's the day that he died.

He was really inspired by her. Bad Romance premiered as the closing song to his last collection, Plato's Atlantis, and then she incorporated several elements of that collection into the BR music video (and a lot of her looks following, including the iconic armadillo boots). He was even supposed to design all the costumes for the Monster Ball. He once even told her that she reminded him of his first muse, Isabella Blow.

Ugh. I really wish he'd gotten the right help to prevent this. The world could've been a better place with him. He had such an incredible mind and was really outspoken about racial inclusivity in fashion. Cheers to McQueen.

My favorite tribute to him is the one made by Björk and Nick Knight, another big collaborator of Gaga. They were also big favorites of his.

OMG incredible, and it was intentional for sure, i don't even doubt it, telephone is about how fast food and this toxic capitalistic system oppress us and kills us, and not only regular people but it kills the art too, she also from all her songs precisely dedicated telephone to him as a tribute at the brits awards, definitely not a coincidence.

Lee's legacy is unmatched and to this day none can do to what he has done to the fashion world. He was a creative genius who gave us romance and misrule at the same time. 

One of my favourite GagaxMcQueen moments was when Gaga bought some of his archived pieces from Daphne Guinesses's auction. She has worn some of them throughout her career. On her 911 MV we can see that she's wearing a dress from Lee's infamous Highland Rape AW 1995 collection. A probability that she has also bought or acquired them from the auction.

Gaga's 2019 Oscar red carpet appearance was in an Alexander McQueen dress. You can clearly see how important he is to her

I often wonder what they would have collaborated on together if he was still alive. I imagine his art and design would have played a huge part in Gaga's career and we would have got another type of Bad Romance video where his fashion was all over it.

I highly recommend the 'McQueen documentary. Great deep dive into his work and life. 

I have no doubt if he was still here, he and Gaga would have continued to work with each other, it's a real shame.

I instantly knew it was a mcqueen dress from that collection when I saw it.
