Being gay myself, there is not a single gay friend that I have that does not have some sort of trauma or is neurodivergent to some capacity. I, myself, am neurodivergent and have past trauma that inadvertently affects me in a lot of ways on a day to day basis sometimes. There’s running themes of familial abuse, be it verbal, physical, or sexual. Bullying for being different or for other conditions like autism or being ADHD. Ongoing lack of support and understanding from a personal to a professional level, as well as access on HOW to even find help are huge issues. I was 27 before I was officially diagnosed with ADHD.
