Adele took home the first ever gender neutral Artist Of The Year award at the O2 Arena on Tuesday night after the BRIT Awards scrapped male and female categories.

During her acceptance speech, Adele told the audience: 'I understand this award has changed but I love being a female artist! I do, I'm really proud of us', as she referenced the changes the awards board had made to the categories.

How dare Adele further normalize the rehtoric of gender social constructs that has plagued society for thousands of years by saying she loves being a female artist. Theres no such thing as a woman, its all made up

I mean how hard could it have been to have 3 categories? Two for binaries and one for non-binaries? I mean there are so many nb acts now and having their separate category would be a huge help to bringing them mainstream. unless the BRITS come forward and say they don't really give a s*** to spotlighting real NB acts and instead just want to lump everyone together for performance.
