As a singer I’ve traveled the world a thousand times over, and I can honestly say that animals are some of the nicest people I’ve met. I’ve hugged old-souled pigs with eyes that tell the story of time, I’ve sang to camels who seem to truly understand my greatest fears, and I consider every dog I’ve ever had to be my very best friend. They’ve been my safety blanket, my light in the storm, and have saved my life more times than I can count. I became a vegetarian because of my dogs. Knowing that cows and chickens could feel and care and empathize, just like my pups, drew me to want to do more to support them. I’m a fairly private person, but I began unapologetically donating my time and resources to organizations including Best Friends and the ASPCA. And by the way that thing of "meat is the future" also sounds ridiculous to me, meat is not the future, mind is the future. Anyway, you'll need to be a human to think that animals are better than humans. Of course i'm also disappointed by humans, we live in a madhouse, but there are a lot good souls that aren't ruling the world and don't deserve to be undermined. Animals are not aware of themselves, they're just forces of nature, they live in the moment, people are aware of themselves, the past, present and future, consciousnesses, some are even hyperaware, that must be the goal of humanity. There's some bestiality in every human and some humanity in every beast i agree, but rationally humans aren't better than animals or animals better than humans, we're just different.
