Gaga may not have the best groundwork for acting but she sure as hell can command a scene. And hey, it might be as simple as freakin Lady Gaga is playing the role but it’s not her fault she’s charismatic and captivating. In hindsight Gaga didn’t rise to Fame because she was serving vocals or production, her personality carried her and that’’s far from a bad thing imo. You're very right and I wish more people saw it from your point of view, the entertainment factor is a huge and that can allow us to appreciate different talents that otherwise would not be. I guess my gripe is that, if the category is best actress, I would argue it should go to whoever did the best job at being an actress. Now that does not necessarily mean only observing technicality but other factors as well. And going by those means, in my personal opinion there were better options for that category. I'm sure if the category was most entertaining it would be a different story. Another thing to note, not that my opinion matters more than the next or that I'm 'qualified' in any sense. I think I prefer actors when they're more subtle, that can convey a more intricate spectrum of highs and lows. I think Gaga is great at the highs but I don't see the small things just yet, and those I think will truly make her a phenomenal actress. Literally what? Have you seen HoG or are we seeing the same film? In HoG there are two scenes of her without any dialogue, those scenes show how strong she can be at small things. Dude it's an opinion, two people can look at the same piece of art and think two different things, I just don't think she's had time to hone her craft yet. You need to understand that just because you watched the film and thought one thing does not mean everyone agrees with you. Gaga was nominated by her fellow ACTORS for a SAG award, a BAFTA and an Oscar for ASIB. And a SAG award and a BAFTA for House of Gucci. She's been nominated by the 99% (SAG, a labor union) AND the 1% (the Actors Branch of the Academy and the British Academy). Why is stan twitter so obsessed with the GRAMMYS?? Who's gonna win AOTY?
