The Nazis declared that the Aryans were superior to all other races. The purest stock of Aryans according to Nazi ideology was the Nordic people of Germany, England, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

The Slavs [especially neighboring Poles (white people)], Gypsies, and Jews were defined as being racially inferior and non-Aryan and declared to be subhuman. Nazi Germany planned to exterminate the majority of Slavic people. Why are some people adamant about disassociating the Holocaust with race? Super weird. 
 

We don’t impose our modern beliefs to historical events to better understand them. That doesn’t make sense. It’s the other way around. We have to view historical events from the perspective of the people that lived through them. The Holocaust was DEFINITELY motivated by the nazi’s definition of race. Our modern definitions will never change that, no matter how much they evolve.  
 

It’s like saying human sacrifice was always motivated by evil just because we no longer believe in the religions that practiced it.

Technically Jewish isn’t a race, but a Religion and ethnicity or culture. 
 

That being said, the nazis thought Aaryons were a race and Jewish people were a race.
