Honestly, Jake does seem pretty sleazy...there's a story floating around about him having a brief fling with an intern when she was 23 and he was 35. I do think the people calling it abuse are overreacting a bit (she was 23, not 19, and from a connected family...) but there were still a weird power imbalance.

My problem is Taylor (and I kind of like her) dated an 18 year old who was still in high school when she was 22. Now 4 years doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but it's a massive deal when one is a high school student and the other is old enough to have graduated college (and in Taylor's case she had enough life experience to be considered a grown as* woman). It still would have been cringe if he was in college, but at least they would have been more even on the life experience scale...anyway, if I found out my 18 year old cousin who is still in high school was dating a college senior I'd be side-eying that college student.

So it just comes off as hypocritical imo
