He has a great vision for this country and we need BIG change, now. Even if not all of his campaign promises came to fruition (which they typically don't) we would be in a much better place than we are now. I agree with you. However, I don’t think even 20% of the American population would vote for him.

Idk, if it was Bernie vs Trump? I feel like Bernie would have won with at least similar margins. Whatever support lost with moderate voters would definitely be made up by progressive ones being more energized. Bernie or Biden though, I think it's kinda irrelevant. Our current issues (legislation wise) lie with the two Democratic senators that refuse to fall in line Whimsical bitch

That’s why people voted for him People voted for Biden because they were repeatedly told Biden could beat Trump. Reality is anyone was going to beat Trump thanks to his mismanagement of the pandemic. If there was no pandemic I guarantee you Trump would have won a second term. They voted for Biden because the Democratic Party went into panic mode when it looked like Bernie had a chance. Biden is not here to fundamentally change anything - he said it himself. The Democrats are mostly center-right. Not leftists. Neither are their donors. LilyLark 10,213
Unpopular opinion. This tweet is kind of misleading. He's pointing out nearly all the senators from the moderates (excluding Sinema and Manchin) to the center-left to the left (including Bernie, Warren, Baldwin, etc.) support his agenda, so one can't call him a socialist because it's not like only leftists support his agenda. Like Biden punches left at times, but in this case he wasn't punching left. He was just saying everyone supports this except for Manchin and Sinema, so for the latter to act like he's trying to push a hardcore leftist agenda is ridiculous. I'm hardly a Biden fan, but he's not actually beating up on the left here. He's trying to explain that nearly everyone, from the left to the center left to the moderates, support his agenda so for Manchin and Sinema to act like he's trying to push a hardcore leftist agenda that only Bernie supports is ridiculous. And yeah, Bernie absolutely gets that Manchin and Sinema are the enemy. Like 3/4s of Bernie's former team have been going HARD after those two on twitter and have even quasi defended Biden by pointing out those two are the reason so much is getting stalled. Nah, Trump will win 2nd term. At least the electorals will make sure of that. Remember 2016. Bernie and Hillary are the same in that not many in their own camp wanted to side with them. A lot of people can primary her and possibly win (such as Gallego). If they had swayed Sinema, they may have been able to get Manchin to stop being such an as* at least on some stuff (clearly not all of it).
DelusionalGaga 29,717
"Why are you trying so hard to pull this country to the left?" The fact that this journalist considers Biden's agenda as far left is truly bizarre when he's as moderate as they come. And the fact that they think Bernie is a socialist when his ideas are the standard in Europe and aren't even contested by conservatives. America is so afraid of "socialism", meanwhile the far-right is chipping away at their democracy every day.
Supersonic 49,376
Reminder: Every "socialist" democrat has so far backed every (flawed) Biden Bill that he proposed, meanwhile the "mainstream" democrats Sinema & Manchin have singlehandedly rendered Biden useless and torpedoe'd every bill he has presented so far. Trump was/is a dumpster fire that burns down half the block and Biden is a napkin that accidentally got caught on fire next to the stove and you put it out in the sink. No comparison. If you truly believe this we might as well all be doomed. Trump and Biden are far more alike than they are dis-alike. Just because Biden talks nicer does not undermine all he has done against and hasn't done for the American people a year into his presidency.
