When it comes to the major ceremonies, she routinely falls short. I know this sounds weird but I'd love her to do a really strong supporting role next. I think these ceremonies are much more open to singers turned actors when it's in a "lesser" acting capacity. And she'll have proved more of her worth by that point. It might be a case of her having to work her way up to an award for a lead role and she'll have to win best supporting actress first. It's just kinda annoying to see the same faces being awarded all the time, though. This is Nicole's 6th GG win. There are people being nominated who turned in good performances who have never even been nominated, much less won. I thought this would be the ceremony where more of a risk is taken, as the GG's are wont to do, and gave it to a controversial choice like Kristen or a more commercial choice like Gaga. The movie barely covered or established anything about the actual couple either. At least not anything that should have been. Every year these award shows get more phony or cliche. I'm honestly baffled at fans who act like her performance was panned. She had just as much critical acclaim as Kidman (if not more) in Being the Ricardos and Chastain in Tammy Faye and more than Zegler in WSS. Like I'm fine with her not winning-there were at least ten worthy performances this year and many will miss out a nom-but there's a difference between going "well, there are a ton of worthy actresses" and "lol Gaga sucks and doesn't belong with the rest."
