I love the continous flow of this album. Even the last song and the first song is made to flow continously with bird sounds. So if you have it on replay, you feel like you stuck on eternal loop in purgatory where you cannot proceed to afterlife.

That's the best part. Those bird sounds, someone who came up with that - 300 IQ

I listened to the whole album while working out and was disappointed. There isn't one song that really stuck out to me as special. I expected some real hooks and bops from an entire album produced by Max Martin.

After reading about some of the analyses of the album's meaning here, I'm going to give it another listen when I can fully focus on it. I hope my opinion will change.

Finally managed to listen to the album after a fully busy week.

The announcements and continuous flow of the album are really well done. Should have guessed it would have had this "radio station" feel from the album title but I had no clue what to expect when coming into this. Every Angel is Terrifying and Phantom Regret were the standouts from the announcements/interludes for me.

Favorite tracks were How Do I Make You Love Me and Sacrifice. Turns out after some research that these two were produced with the help of Swedish House Mafia so that might explain it.

Other strong favorites were:

-Take My Breath (honestly great choice as a lead single, it makes more sense when listening to the entire album),

-Out of Time (very Michael Jackson, I love that one)

-Don't Break My Heart

-Less Than Zero

Is it my favorite album by The Weeknd? Too early to tell, but the album has some very nice songs and I like its concept so after some other listens it might grow on me even more. :)

Methinks the critics are acclaiming it solely bc he was snubbed by the Grammys for his last album :reductive:

Yea but AH deserved its acclaim. Idk many people that don’t enjoy that album, whereas this one seems to have gotten much more of a mixed response, yet critics are acting like it’s a perfect album with no flaws :laughga:

All 3 first singles are incredible pop songs mimicking the 80s and 90s eras. Sacrifice is probably my favourite video, the others got a bit “lost” - in constraint I found the videos for Blinding Lights and In Your Eyes to be instantly iconic and fitted their songs perfectly.

Out Of Time is literally a multi format mega smasha waiting to happen. I can see the chokehold its gonna have on radio

The first Weeknd album I’ve listened to and I’ve been obsessed. Every song is a bop and I listen to phantom regret on repeat. I love it

I was never really a Weeknd fan, or ever paid attention to him, but this album is FIRE. Production is brilliant and it's so cohesive and a great concept. The music videos are also a huge serve. I love it.
