There is no way marvel could hit a billion in 12 days. No way! And not only that. It’s the biggest movie for Sony. Of all time. Those are two incredible feats for a movie released during a pandemic. A feat that sony never achieved in a time pre covid. My point is not the brand. It’s the market. The market was ready and HOG (while doing better than any other R rated drama since 2019) it’s still very low from regular numbers. The biggest R Rated movie from 2019 was the Joker. An anomaly of a movie, sure. But the average from R Rated movies would be 200+ and I dont see House of gucci nearing it. 200 million was the BO from straight out of Compton. Actually Marvel movies are kind of immune to COVID due to the fact that: Many Marvel fans will only go to the theater to watch Marvel movies. Marvel movies always have automatic hype due to them being connected or part of the same universe. Marvel movies are almost always family friendly. Most Marvel movies don’t go to streaming services right away on top of them being movies made for the big screen (due to their spectacle) and not really for streaming. Everyone knew Spider-Man was going to make a billion and was going to smash records because of the return of certain characters. I still don't understand how you're comparing the two but okay. Edit to add: I also live in the 3rd largest city in my state, so that should give you an indication of how quickly it was moved out of theaters. she/her/hers

The fact it's up there with a third installment of a franchise, a 'sequel' to a DC movie featuring Harley Quinn and a sequel to an iconic horror franchise. There's so much to celebrate, I don't know why people are looking for the negatives.
skaxboy 5,438
It’s on track to be the 25th highest grossing movie in the US for 2021. MadreMonster 2,584
Gaga proved her name will draw crowds! This is so exciting - I can’t wait to see what else she does. I hope after a few more box office hits, she does some super weird indie films. I’d love to see her in some sci-fi dramas. Or something like Dark on Netflix.
