He must also disclose all recordings and notes relating to the song, including anything from his phone, tablet, laptop or studios. It comes amid a battle with musician Sami Chokri who claimed that the chorus for Shape Of You is a rip-off of his 2015 song Oh Why. The High Court wants to know if Ed follows anyone named in Chokri’s argument. Ed insists he has never heard Chokri's song. Ed has probably lost millions since he had royalities frozen. That hollow organ of a vocal. But I don't think it's close enough to merit copying, or even significant enough of a creative work to be considered an infringement on originality. I wouldn't be surprised if he took this hook and reworked it even if it could be a coincidence as well. Same with Will I Am, Oasis or even Bruno Mars to a smaller extent when it comes to recycling yet these dudes don't have a copycat image the same way a Gaga or a Beyoncé kinda does despite never having to sign settlements or being condemned for plagiarism.
