I voted ARTPOP to Joanne, but only because I had tuned out of her for a couple of years between then.
 

I remember hearing about Lady Gaga again for the first time when she released this new song called “Perfect Illusion” and announced a new album called “Joanne”, and I saw her looking normal for once. I was taken aback. Why is she wearing Jean shorts? Why is she wearing tank tops and t-shirts? Why is she wearing cowgirl hats? Why is her hair in a pony tail? Why is she acting like she’s from Nashville? Why is she singing and speaking with a light southern twang? Why is she making roots rock music like The Wallflowers, Gin Blossoms, and Sister Hazel? I was so confused — I had no context of what had happened for the previous two years, so seeing this new Gaga was jarring. This is not a diss against Joanne, I liked that album! But it was definitely different in a way that I was not expecting, and from Lady Gaga of all people!! 🤯

But when you find out what she had been up to during the years in between ARTPOP and Joanne, the shift makes sense and isn’t that shocking in the grand scheme of things. Joanne/ASIB to Chromatica, on the other hand, is much more organically surprising. Even with the pink hair and Haus labs, it felt like it came out of nowhere! Or at least, it all happened so fast once it was on anyways. 😵‍💫

I voted for TF-TFM. Her look was pretty consistent throughout TF (blonde bangs, bleached eyebrows, spray tan, re-used a lot of the same outfits). When the TFM era started and she began to experiment more with her look I couldn't believe she was the same person.

The idea that Lady Gaga doesn't like her fans anymore is a JOKE that has been common on this site for a long time and for many reasons.

Calling it "vile" is just a desperate attempt to get me to engage with you because I hurt your feelings a long time ago.  

So I hoped you enjoyed it, I'm just going to back to waiting for your eventual permaban since we all know it's coming.    I won't be reading whatever desperate response you come up with to this.

Not only was the general public confused about what she actually looked like by that point, but the fact that even her own fans (who had become so used to the tan, straight blonde bangs, and more socially accepted “beautiful” looks) were left confused if she was even the same person, I think that says a lot.

Heck, most of us never even saw her dang forehead until September-October 2009 

The Fame and The Fame Monster were meant to be a yin and yang, the light side and the dark side of fame. Polar opposites of eachother. And her looks (and the stark contrast of them) throughout both eras definitely reflected that.

Btw to ARTPOP is the first time her face really looked “different” to me. I remember she sang the national anthem or gave a speech or something, can’t remember, and it was after her ~blackout~ and healing from the btwb injury and she looked v different (national anthem at pride, june 2013)

Edit: omg just found the video and it’s crazy cuz she rly doesn’t look much different. it’s been so much time since since then and she has changed so much over the years since 2013 so it’s not as drastic now. But back then when I viewed every interview, magazine cover, and paparazzi photo even the slightest change stood out

BTW to AP because she was very messy and over the top in BTW and then stripped down in a more sensual and shiny kind of way in ARTPOP. The styles from TF-BTW flowed smoothly.
