StrawberryBlond 13,841
Surprised no one's said this classic. It's super overt sexuality, generic sexiness and plays into exactly what men what but it's masterfully done: If this song had been more popular, it would probably have been on more 'most sexiest music videos' lists. It's hard to believe they weren't genuinely hooking up in this video. Shakira also proves that if you're a sexy person, you don't need to be naked or being doing anything explicit for maximum impact: This one is more subtle but it's so bewitching. Even though it's just her and nothing explicit is shown, it's undoubtedly sexual and weirdly uncomfortable, especially towards the end (for non-Spanish speakers, the song is a concept piece about a girl going through a traditional ceremonial checking of her virginity before her wedding and once you know this, the imagery speaks for itself). As we saw above, Hispanic artists seem to view sexuality in a different way to English speaking artists. It's more subtle, more sensuous, it's deep: A lot of videos that are deemed as sexy don't really do it for me, the PCD one is a bit of an exception. I think when women try too hard to be sexy and exactly what men want, there's something un-sexy about it. When a woman is sexy because she genuinely feels it within herself and isn't necessarily doing it for anyone but herself, it's so much more appealing.
