It's worse than bad. It's boring. The cast is completely wasted on this long lackluster script.

Let's not pretend that the role was supposed to be super deep, she was basically a caricature of herself and she did the job. I'd go as far as saying she was pretty funny.

It's my favorite film of the year and I don't get how anyone in their right mind would pretend this isn't excellent filmmaking. It's both funny and thought-provoking, and the cast is top-notch with great performances all the way through the numerous secondary characters. Everyone around me loved it as well. Not just enjoyed it: LOVED it.

it's really great satire, and I think people who say it's bad recognized themselves in the characters that are criticized in the movie.

I can't see how someone can say that about this particular movie. It has a clear message (a caricature about how society is reacting to climate change and other social events, I guess). There is no sub-plot, no hidden message, and the viewer leaves the room getting the message without even thinking too much about it (so I doubt this film can impact people's lives). It's a piece of entertainment, and I would say it's funny at times, but nothing more than that. Ariana's musical performance is cringe-worthy and the lowest part of the film. Her acting is like a SNL scene, it gets really boring pretty quickly.

This is most Adam McKay movies in a nutshell tbh, which is why I avoided Don't Look Up. He sucks.  The best thing he has done is produce Succession (and stayed out of writing it).
