Can someone explain me why studios still release movies in different months across the globe in 2021? :bear:

To avoid looking frontloaded. Releasing it slowly all over the world retains the buzz while the box office drop is made softer by money from new territories being added every week.

I’m sure they wanted to get the thanksgiving crowd for the US. And it might be more beneficial on different weekends in different countries - is my guess

It did in 1980 when internet didn't exist and people didn't read everything that happened in a movie on twittwr

A box-office smash.

it's outgrossed most adult-dramas that have come out recently combined. This just further cements Gaga as a "butts-in-seat" movie star. The impact just never seems to die.

Overall, this just makes me excited for whatever new project/movie she considers to do next. I need her to be in a Denis Villeneuve, Pablo Larrain, Baz Luhrman, Yorgos Lanthimos or Guillermo Del Toro film ASAP. My cinematic dreams would come true.

Here’s the weekly breakdown so far:

Week 1 : 35M

Week 2 : 32M

Week 3 : 26M

Week 4 : 13M (screens reduced to 50% because of Spiderman)

Not Pablo please. I was so excited for Jackie and Spencer because I love Lady Di and Jackie O so much but he sucked all the life out of their characters.

Nah I think it’s mainly due to covid, some states in Australia were in lockdown not long ago that’s why everything at the cinema got pushed back.

fair enough but I absolutely disagree.

I loved both Jackie and Spencer but that depends on your individual tastes/perspective. I thought he actually put a lot of love and brought interesting dynamics to both characters. I honestly think Gaga and Larrain would be a match made in heaven (depending on role that is) as he tends to put a lot of focus on the psychological constructs of his characters. Also considering how deep Gaga goes into her roles, it would give her more of a showcase that spotlights the emotional intensity she carries as an actress and Larrain imo would capture that magic perfectly.
