Oh Gosh the amount of p0rn supporters who suddenly became offended by her statement  :mark:  you don’t need to defend the p0rn, just move on and read another GGD topic

Yeah and the between the lines is where that statement is coming from. It’s dismissive to say “yes most is misogynistic BUT!” when that is an incredibly crucial point to what she’s saying. She’s saying it’s disgraceful but the broader point is quite clearly talking about the toxicity of the culture around ****ography at large. Not just **** the thing itself. As a woman, that is her concern and, frankly, is a LOT of women’s concerns. Dismissing it as some minor aside is completely beside the point and is why so many people feel uncomfortable expressing these discomforts they have with the culture. She’s not out here condemning sex or sexuality, she’s condemning much of the culture around it which, frankly, is male-centric in the US and many other places. Saying “well it’s a reflection of society” is basically the point she’s making and that you’re disregarding. Yes. ****, or popular **** which is what she’s speaking to, in its current form is largely a reflection of a chauvinistic society. That isn’t a concern to cast off. A productive means of engaging with this would be “****, why would a young girl be so uncomfortable with ****?”, inspect that, and then acknowledge that there’s something seriously wrong. Picking at the semantics of her statement diverts attention away from the actual point at hand.

but that's what you make out of it, it is not in her statement and it's not between the lines, people that read this read this will be lead to think **** is just a disgrace and that is bad because that's just what she says, those are very definitive statements, and this is not a good standpoint specially since we all know the stigma around **** and watching **** and that is bad and unhealthy that already exists

Eh if you listen to the actual show it is VERY clear what she means. Not her problem that the headlines made what they wanted of it. The convo on **** was like 10 whole minutes

Mess. I haven't gotten the chance to read this thread which is an interesting topic and it's probably gonna get deleted because of arguments. :yennefer:

I'm thinking how devastating this must be for her parents to hear, considering they kept her so sheltered even when she became famous. No parent wants to hear their child was engaging in this stuff at 11. Even though it's so common, we all want to believe our children will be the exception. What she speaks of is so true and it's sad how the dangers of this industry are so downplayed in modern society, which you'd think would be more evolved by now to realise that no, it's not ok to choke a woman and force her to vomit into a bowl and drink it. And that's just it, so much of what's in p**n now isn't even sex acts, there's sometimes no sex involved, it's just flat-out abuse and we should be highly concerned that this is marketed to young males and is considered standard fare if you want to watch p**n. And even if it's "ethical" stuff, commodification of the body can still be highly damaging to performers, not to mention, their reproductive health. What it physically does to your body is shocking. I remember when a troll joined GGD once just to post the same p**n picture over and over and that image is permanently burned onto my mind. I feel so sorry for anyone who's had their body altered in such a way because of vile stuff that's expected of them in these scenes.
