...maybe billionaires should be putting their money into the betterment of society as a whole and keeing the planet sustainable, instead of pumping it into escape schemes for other billionaires when this planet become inhabitable. Isn’t that exactly what Elon Musk is doing though? Tesla has revolutionised the transport industry with electric cars and they produce solar panels. I really would like to see humans land on Mars before I die, I think that would be an incredible achievement for humanity to accomplish and it’s inevitable that we as a species will need to colonise other planets.

this is rlly uneducated, everything moves in baby steps, we had to make planes out of paper and sticks(only like 120 yrs ago) before we could go to the moon

Electric cars aren't that sustainable - it just makes you feel eco-friendly, because greenhouse gases are not produced by your cat, but by power plants suplying electricity ot it. Also car batteries and solar panels are creating a lot of hardly managable waste. Sustainability has 3 main pillars: environmental, economical and social. So far Elon cares about economical, while he pretends to care about environmental and he really doesn't care about the social aspect. He is ruining the night sky and polluting space just because he wants internet for everyone while there are milions of people who need food and healthcare instead of internet. I'm so fed up with hi portraing himself as our saviour.... no-one asked him to be one. No, thanks.

Isn’t the atmosphere already ruined anyway with the amount of satellites in Earth’s orbit? What’s wrong with everyone being able to have access to the internet? Starlink is fantastic for people who live rural areas, I live in Australia and the country is massive a lot of people who don’t live in the city have no access to the internet.

Elon is horrible but like...are you against the concept of electric cars? What else are we gonna do. The supply chain & energy grid issues are solvable. In fact...there's no chance of solving the energy source problems unless we get cars on the grid in the first place. What should we use? Hydrogen? Nobody's proven that that's feasible at scale.

Nope he isn't. He is building slightly less unsustainable, expensive cars for rich people that green-wash their bad conciousness, along with SpaceX being nothing but a glorified evironmental hazard and C02 dump.  Modifying ways of individual transport is not tackling the root of the actual problem: Lacking infrastructure, affordable, accessible, sustainable and comfortable public transport.

But that's not what Elon Musk wants, because he's a salesman and not a philanthropist with a strong moral compass. He wants to sell you things, give you the illusion that you are able to make a change as an individual, while cackling behind doors about being the sole monetary beneficiary of system that exploits countless people (for example the countries where Tesla gets their natural resources from or his own fatory workers).

While electric cars of course are better than ones running on fossil fuels, they still hog a lot of space in the city. Carports, parking lots, streets & garages. Building, maintaining and expanding these infrastructures that make individual transport so attractive and accessible is even more harmful than letting the fossil fueled cars roam around free. The production of concrete, cement and blacktop streets emits way more C02 than the entire car traffic of the world together. If he was really as much of a "good guy & visionairy" that his stans hype him up to be, he'd use his clout and literal billions to either revolutionize the building industry or push for funtional public transport or maybe just...treat the employees of his own companies like human beings

The sky we see now is almost the same as it was for our ancestors thousands years ago, it shaped many sociates, religions... and slowly because of starlink we won't be able to see it without chains of light of Elon Musks satelites. Now there is about 5000 satellites orbiting Earth, Starlink will add another 12000. Now there are only few of then up there and they are already ruining work of astronomes.
