Sorcerer 12,127
“To many Lady Gaga is an icon through her music, but she continues to impress audiences with her iconic acting roles,” festival chairman Harold Matzner said in a statement. “Following her memorable performance in ‘A Star is Born,’ Lady Gaga yet again raises the bar in her portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani in ‘House of Gucci,’ the shocking true story of the family behind the Italian fashion empire. For this tour-de-force performance, it is our honor to present the icon award to Lady Gaga.” Past recipients of the group’s icon award include Glenn Close, Willem Dafoe, Michael Douglas, Robert Duvall, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep. The Palm Springs International Film Awards will take place in-person on Jan. 6, 2022 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Awards season, here we come! I think they just want her there tbh. They're giving all the other Best Actress contenders awards too (Penelope Cruz, K.Stew, Jennifer Hudson, and Jessica Chastain are each getting some sort of award from them too this year). The year ASIB/Gaga was in the running they had Melissa McCarthy, Glenn Close, and Olivia Colman there to recieve their own type of random award (Emily Blunt also got something from them with the Mary Poppins cast). They chose to honor ASIB with noms for Bradley instead.
