have you ever seen movie credits? lol. It takes a lot of people to make art sometimes.

I'm aware of that, but does everyone who worked on a film get a Best Picture nomination? No, they don't.

Well, I guess featuring is getting even more popular now (and Katy could win a Grammy that way) :bear:

Mark me, Nicki Minaj will win a AOTY Grammy every year.

well, why not? they contributed to the piece of work, which is being rewarded as a whole. I think the grammy's got this right. Idk if we need to make a billion statues but they should all be able to say they won.

You picked a horrible analogy and I just went with it. But there are multiple reasons. First of all - because everyone already has their respective category where they can get recognised for their contributions + no one can take their work away from them, trophy or no trophy - they were a part of the creative team behind it. But also because the award loses its significance. You can literally suggest a lyric change and get credited as an Album of the Year winner, which is not fair to someone who's come up with an overall concept, wrote 15 songs for the album, produced it, sang on it and what not to lose it to somebody I mentioned.

okay, I mean I don't really care that much about this, I didn't want to make you feel like we're arguing, I'm sorry. I just disagree. I don't think it really changes the significance for the people that did more work if people that did less work get the same award. You know what you did. An album is worked on by a huge number of people. Even a tiny contribution can be a huge deal in a piece of art IMO.

Exactly, only the producing team can win Best Picture. Even the director of a movie doesn't get a statuette if their movie wins Best Picture.

wait. so if L4S wins AOTY, Gaga won't get the award?!?

She will get the award.
AOTY is for Artist(s) and Featured Artist(s), Songwriter(s) of new material, Producer(s), Recording Engineer(s), Mixer(s) and Mastering Engineer(s). They eliminated 33% playing time rule and now more artists/songwriters/producers will get this awards.

it’s gonna go to billie, olivia, or Gaga. the grammys are not gonna make 400 statuettes for 1 album.

my money is on Olivia because Taylor would still win a grammy that way and be a 4 time album of the year winner 💀

I think they won't give it to woman this year, Taylor won last year and Adele will win in 2023:reductive:
