Cardi B at the AMAs

Schiaparelli is really the IT-brand right now, I feel like everyone is wearing them.

But I'm not complaining because their stuff is exquisite, this is no exception!

Also I'm consistently surprised by how bold Cardi is with her fashion. Off the top of my head, not even Gaga has ever gone on a red carpet with her face fully obscured. Masks  are a whole world of fashion I'd love to see celebrities explore more, even if from a promo/exposure point of view they don't make sense.

truly a queen of fashion, if she hasn't won a CFDA award like Gaga she deserves one.

jean paul gaultier with a phantom of the opera mask and mcqueen at the 2009 vmas when it wasn't even a thing and everyone made fun of of her?? she did a whole fashion show with storytelling that night. She has been masked in plenty of street looks, actually i think her best looks are street looks, which says a lot of her as a fashion icon

I mean let’s not snub this iconic look that even made Eminem nervous

Also, what Cardi is wearing looks a lot like this Armani dress that Gaga wore three years ago:

Gaga been doing it since the beginning.

People are still underrating Gaga's impacts on nowadays "avant-garde" fashion trends while praising Cardi B, Kanye West, Kim as established fashion icons, and I think it's really funny. :messga:

Cardi looks great, as ironic as that sounds.

Maybe my standards are too high because I stan Gaga (who is extremely involved in every single detail when it comes to her looks), but no matter how good a look is I can never completely stan a look some celebrities sport because it's mostly the stylist doing the work. The one thing I dislike about fashion houses today is anyone and everyone can wear their looks which I feel cheapens the brands.

On one hand, I enjoy seeing celebrities finally look interesting (thank you Gaga for spearheading high fashion into the mainstream). One the other hand, many of them are wearing high fashion just to appear interesting even though they're not (bland). People like Kim K, Beyonce, Nicki, Katy once upon a time - the clothes wear them than the other way around when they try to do high fashion. Rihanna, whom I don't even care for, is one of the very few who can actually pull it off and it feels authentic.

It comes to show you no matter how much money you have or how much access, what really makes high fashion work is having the personality to work it. In my book, Gaga and Rihanna are the only too big celebrities that can actually do it right.

I think at this point of fashion history, young artists (and audience) should read more, and be knowledgeable enough to present themselves with grace and humbleness, especially to those who came before them and paved the way. Nothing is that groundbreaking anymore. So the only way to actually "stand out" is be YOURSELF, and not trying to be anything just because it looks cool, when tbh it looks boring af.
