It was a fantastic concert and I loved the interview with Oprah. :applause: I just hope there's gonna be a few surprises on the album, heard 4 out of 12 songs on the album and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed so far.

I haven't seen the full concert, but it looks really amazing. I really like the new songs so far but still I'm hoping for some more upbeat-Adele-type tracks.

Keep an eye out for “Can I Get It” produced by Max Martin then!

I'm surprised any Adele fan would be disappointed by these. It's pretty much exactly what you would and should expect from Adele at this point. She is by no means an innovator when it comes to her music, her most experimental album was probably 19 and everything since has been a blatant attempt to recreate the success of 21 imo. She's still a wonderful singer, but ... Yeah, I listen to her for her voice, not the originality of her tracks. Also there are 2 or 3 bonus tracks on the Target edition too!

Love Is a Game reminded me of Amy Winehouse (not the just the title), the sound of the entire song could have fitted Amy very well :messga:

It also sounds like a Motown/ The Jackson 5 song from the 60s/70

Obsessed with I drink wine. The most poignant lyrics of the new ones so far.

Adele has really impressed me as a lyricist with her new songs. She was always a good songwriter, but you can tell this album especially is near and dear to her heart by the meaning she’s put into every song we’ve heard so far.

And yet the lyrics are nowhere near the quality of Rolling in the Deep and many of her older songs imo.

Compare:

• I Drink Wine:

So I hope I learn to get over myself
Stop trying to be somebody else
So we can love each other for free
Everybody wants something, you just want me

• Rolling In The Deep:

See how I'll leave with every piece of you
Don't underestimate the things that I will do
There's a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark

I personally think they’re two different writing styles, one leans more into metaphor to convey emotion while the other is direct and simple, akin to a conversation with a close friend.
