Can you name me a time in recent history when a generation of 4 year olds had to live life on their own, hunt for their food, etc? This study isn’t a debating focus and did it’s job of getting hits. They probably know where food comes from: the grocery store, or the restaurant. If you're arguing that they need to know farm skills, those are "life skills" for an increasingly tiny fraction of the population, and that's not going to change, short of the collapse of civilization. (Of course I think people should know about food production in the abstract -- not necessarily how to do it, but enough to vote sensibly on related policies, for instance.)
