'cause they never let anyone sample their songs lmao

Only two songs from ABBA had been sampled so far :laughga:

Guess I just have a different opinion than most. Personally I’d be happy to have my song sampled by any artist. It would just mean to me that my song has some type of meaning to them to want to do something like that. :vegas:

They used to be like that but now they have let everyone and their mothers release EDM versions of Gimme Gimme Gimme, Voulez Vous, etc

They don't seem to be against covers or remixes tho

Erasure did an ABBA cover album back in the day, A*Teens was aproved by B&B, Cher also did an album after Mamma Mia 2 and many tribute bands released albums and even unreleased songs from ABBA (Arrival did Just a Notion and Björn Again did Just Like That)

I guess sampling its different because they need to share credits or something

Her and that other rapper girl always use heavy  samples to the point where you can't tell if it's a song you like or some weird cover by a random indie person??? like where's the inspiration or creativity or originality :bradley:???

Just let her sample some of the song, what’s the big deal? At least she asked first.. Unlike of some artists..

The big deal is that it’s their legacy lmao as artists theyre understandably protective over who uses it. The fact that Madonna had to grovel for it should be evidence enough that they really hold their legacy as pop music innovators in high regard. They had to eat **** for a looooong time to become well-known and loved. I get the apprehension to just let anyone use their work especially because if they did people would probably use it all the time until the impact of their own work is minimal.
