I know Taylor is fuming over Adele dropping on the date she announced five months in advance. Red could’ve easily done multiple weeks consecutively at the top spot.

because i guess deadlines don’t apply to her. hope she sells the 500 K in the first week.

she didn’t have to order 500K outright anyway. i’m sure 300K would have sufficed and would have given room for other indie artists.

I'm pretty sure it's her record label not herself. She doesn't seem to be the person that's obsessed with sales.

My SAWAYAMA glitter vinyl has been delayed three times now (I would classify her as indie pop)

Allie X has been having issues with her vinyl production as well (it took me months to receive my CollXtion I&II double LP)

Because they’re both signed to major labels. Being an independent artist and being an artist that makes music in the indie genre isn’t the same thing.

that is completely my bad. I meant in terms of popularity and genre. I actually never knew “indie” literally meant “independent” that’s my fault and I’m sorry! That being said, I don’t necessarily think being on a major label really takes away from being an indie artist. Kim Petra’s is IMO still indie. DeathByRomy is still very indie-alternative. Etc.

 

By the looks of it, being signed onto a major label doesn’t negate the fact that they’re being pushed to the bottom of the list

Adele has a black, a white, and a clear vinyl. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's folklore had EIGHT colours and didn't come close to this number ... Same for Billie Eilish's Happier than Ever that had like seven colours.

Earlier, there was a 4-6 month lead for vinyls. Deadlines obviously apply to her if she provided the album a whole six months ago and it’s still not out for a couple more weeks.

The 500,000 aren’t all for release week. The article said that quantity is to cover the entire holiday season.

Her label simply thought ahead and planned this better than anyone else. 🤷🏻‍♂️
