He said recently that he’s had the next series of 5 symbol albums tattooed on his arm since 2012 if I remember correctly, so some fans have speculated fast-forward, rewind, pause, play, and stop, which he’s had tattooed for years. We’ll have to see though, I’m so excited to see what the next phase of his career brings after the mathematics era!

+ is an addition onto his early material from before he was signed, X is multiplying everything about + (bigger sound, bigger shows, etc.), Divide is very divided in its sound so each track sounds different than the one before, = is a culmination of his previous albums, and - is going to be a stripped back acoustic record. He’s had these 10 symbol albums planned for years and I personally find it impressive and admirable that he’s following through with a masterplan from before he even made his first album.

he just doesn't have the creativity to create an album concept or an interesting title. literally any artist could follow a naming scheme as effortless as ed's but they don't because its boring.

Adele's naming scheme thus far has been similar. Although I could have sworn after 25, she said that she was going to drop the age being her album title thing moving forward.

I know if I followed math properties that would be the case but I wanted to follow the year order so I simply used the numbers directly in the calculator, with no operation priorities. Also, an infinite decimal is funnier for the joke

That’s really just up to personal preference. If you find it boring that’s fine, you’re allowed to feel that way, but I don’t find it boring personally. I think it’s more clever than just choosing a title track because he goes into the album with an idea of what it will be while still allowing himself the freedom to make music that reflects where he is in his life you know? And at the end of the day his fans love the concepts, that’s the most important thing.
