there is a huge demand for vinyl that has also caused delays in manufacturing, which have been exacerbated by global supply-chain problems and shortages of raw materials like PVC and paper products.
Big artist have to book their albums 6 months prior.
Ed Sheeran said there are 3 vinyl factories in the world.

I am aware of that, the vinyl are supposed to ship this week. She could have scored maybe a top three debut if everything was released together this week instead of taking this decision to split between two weeks, that’s what bothers me a bit.

Wow Doja might even out stream Drake in a couple of weeks.  Her streaming power if amazing.

Both her and Olivia are just slaying.

At this point neither her nor her management care about stats.
Release another album this year? Close your instagram? Leaks? Same production? They’re like, Sure. Why not? :yennefer:

it wasnt a conscious decision they made. some variants just happened to be delayed, all they couldve done was push back the release into november, but november is packed with highly anticipated releases already so it wouldnt have helped her chart position anyway

The vinyl always had a release date on the 29th while the digital had a release date on the 22th. Some variants (like the red vinyl) were delayed to November, but even when the preorder became available, the digital and physical releases had separate release dates. Logistic delays that we found out this week aside, the planning was not eficiente since the very beginning. That’s my point.

This is also true, she doesn’t give a **** at this point regarding commercial success. Even on her livestream she told the fans to not go crazy buying every single product, that she was fine with that. So all in all, it doesn’t really matter.

I don’t agree on the same production statement though :green: but I don’t wanna argue that lol.

Wolf Boy

It’s only a few thousand from being #2.

Not that she cares lol, but yeah.

It’s at #2 in the Uk i believe. Chemtrails was #1. Pretty good for low promo releases.

ed sheeran dropped yesterday, will be #1 for at least 1 week, probably two. then taylor swift drops, #1 for one week, then probably stuck at number 2. adele drops the week after, probably #1 for 2484943283 weeks. Doja can probably kiss that #1 goodbye sadly

I agree it's a waiting game but we're also talking about an album that's been in the top 5 almost the entire time, if not the entire time so I do have a little faith it can stick around until Januaryish.

it got pushed back in europe too, and the stock was also limited i believe so people who ordered earlier got it first. both my vinyls shipped this week but i was originally told they would only start shipping from nov 1.

yeah but that's the thing the longer it stays in the top 5 the likelier its streams/sales will fall the following week, like no album stays in the top 5 permanently, eventually it will fall off, and that's a huge 2 month window where the #1 spot is guaranteed to either taylor, ed, or adele. Not to forget that Beyoncé is probably going to drop right after Adele, and Rihanna is probably coming too. It's going to be hard to get to #1 soon imo
