It’s a beautiful thing. I live right next to a park and I hate to admit that pre-pandemic I didn’t make much use of it besides a quick route in to the city, but since lockdown I’ve completely fallen in love with it and it’s truly been a life saver.

Watching it come into bloom in spring and summer and change for autumn is so special. It was particularly lush at the end of September: just so beautiful to be in. It’s city-centre adjacent so unfortunately the railings and walls get graffitied from time to time, and over summer people left a lot of litter (which always boggles my mind), but I just got myself a litter picker to do my part to help keep it tidy. It’s so special to have a slice of nature on your doorstep, no matter how small.

I like how you worded this out. I like you. Nature is the best!

(Former App grad as well. :vegas: Also got my school admin license from there, just did that online.)

I did lateral entry for my certification and wanted to do it through App so bad, but they only offer middle grades 6-9 online and I'm secondary 9-12 :bradley: Hoping to eventually get my Master's from them in the future...the question is in what though :enigma:

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

i feel you! is very wild. USA, Canada and other parts of the world have some beautiful forest but here in latinamerica nature is a little more challenging, different animals, mosquitoes, snakes, crocodiles, the weather is more intense too

For me it’s the daily life nature, the annoying birds, the ants, weird eating flesh bugs, I don’t really have mosquitoes here because we are on a big hill so it’s colder than the rest of the city

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

They have a masters in school administration. I basically did that program just the certificate because I already have a masters.

I live on the countryside in a village just by the fields and forests…

I live in a rural area next to fields and hills (I can even see some mountains out of my window). Sometimes I realize that I take this for granted, not everybody has the opportunity to be close to nature.

Exactly this!

Just today I told my bf how immensely grateful I'm to watch outside the window and see trees changing colours, birdies and sometimes even a squirrel. It lifts my mood so much! I've started taking almost daily walks as a teenager, still do and it's time so worth invested. I also love that I bike past fields and a river on my way to work - I love the atmosphere of early autumn mornings when I leave our village behind and bike through the fields.

Florida looks like this too but with less mountains and more man sized reptiles :vegas:

I love walking through the swampy trails around my town. We're surrounded by wetlands

Anyone wonder why our mental health is getting worse and worse? Is everyone suddenly getting biological inbalances in huge numbers to result in poor mental health?

While genetics play a role in everything i do believe the mental health epidemic crisis is more environmental of our societies environments and circumstances

Its also why i get mad meeication is over emphasized as the main way to manage it (even tho i agree it has its place)

I used to have severe mental health issues (hospitalized twice for suicide attempts even) so I think i know a little about what im talking about... ive felt much better the last 2 years learning to deal with it, natural therapies and attitude and thought re-direction techniques than I felt when I was on double the medication dose I am on now (hoping to be fully off within the next several months if doctor still supports it)

May I text you privately? :)

Beautiful country!

10% of Finland's territory is made up of freshwater lakes. :tony:

During the pandemic, here in the Philippines... gardening, indoor plants, selling plants..became a trend, and i think it's because nature really helped people get through the mental battle that this pandemic is giving us. It gave people a sense of life, hope. A sense of what's out there. It also reminded people to appreciate the simple things in life. Thats what I think. We are part of nature, and we will always get back to it. It's science.

It's funny that you say that because the more 'tame', idilic & serene forests of northern Eurasia and North America are actually accidental and appeared as a result of the mammoths going extinct. So the forests you dislike are in a sense the true forests, not the temperate ones which were not supposed to be here.
