That was a trash move
I used to work at Starbucks and I know pay it forward chains suck but...like...no :fthis:

I'm curious as well.

I've had times at my store where a customer will inconvenience the people behind them and they'll leave enough money to cover others' purchases and it's never been anything but an absolute delight

I heard about that. It screws up the orders because the baristas cant keep track of who's doing what especially if they are paying by credit card or debit in an already long car line.

Do YOU own the 4' by 6' Perfect Illusion promo Poster? Will pay you for it. Pic: http://i.imgur.com/UWuzumk

Not really! When I worked at Starbucks and people did this, we'd just swipe the gift cards as payment for every customer until the funds were gone and the POS told us there was a balance still due, in which case that customer would pay for the remaining amount and still get a nice discounted gift :) this barista is a thief lol

Edit: also you're an icon and I'm obsessed with your timeless emote :chica:

If they do it via gift card that doesn't sound so bad, but I think the way it usually goes at most drive thru's is that the person says they'll pay for the next person's order and then that person does the same and so on and so forth. My friend used to work at a local coffee chain's drive thru and told me that everyone there hated dealing with it. Plus some people would get screwed over if their order was only like $3 but the person behind them was considerably more. But again, Gaga's method seems far superior so kudos to her.

Just my opinion, I've never dealt with it from an employee's point of view, but basically the "pay it forward" chains are only actually a nice treat for the person who breaks the chain and doesn't have to pay for anything. Like, imagine a person going through to get a coffee and is informed the person in front of them paid, Wow, how sweet! But then the customers behind them are a family of four getting full meals, they either have to break the chain and maybe feel bad (or be shamed by the employees sometimes), or pay way more than they had planned, and that can suck for anyone on a budget. It can be nice if one person just pays for another and it ends there, but the chains are basically useless and annoying for most in my view haha

Yeah that sounds dumb. The way Gaga did it wouldnt create those issues.

Lmao I'd be the guy that found his coffee was paid for, learned the next person's order was 3 times the price of mine, and be like uhhhh thanks man and end that chain of kindness there 😂 I didn't sign up for this!
