PopReaper 2,224 Posted September 22, 2021 Share Posted September 22, 2021 I think a movie like House of Gucci appeals mostly to an adult audience anyway (as opposed to a romance + musical drama like ASIB) so I don't think the Box Office results would be very different if it had been rated as PG-13. I'm more shocked that Don't Look Up is going to feature graphic nudity tbh, didn't expect that based off of the trailer. Every other R rated movie that has been released to cinema during this year has bombed, this will not be the exception. The Covid still out there and people rather go to cinema, to see something familiar/funny than a really mature movie. The success from this movie will come, either from streaming or critical acclaim. This was always going to be an R movie. No one should've expected otherwise. It's just the kind of movie it is, aimed at an adult audience.
