It depends on if you want something that could be relatable or something that’s a bit fantastical.

But in general I’d suggest:
The Sinister movies. The entire Insidious franchise. The Possession of Hannah Grace. Orphan. Clover Field. Session 9. Jennifer’s Body. Ginger Snaps.

I had to stop myself, I can go on and on and on. :bradley:

I have seen the sinister, insidious, orphan and Jennifer's body. They are all pretty good! I will check the rest of the movies thank you!

The Fame Monster

I don’t know if it’s a horror movie or rather a thriller, but I really enjoyed Doctor Sleep.

A big horror/sci-fi movie fan here (like many of us in the thread ).  Here are a few "categories"(?) that I love.  Definitely can't get all of them out -- but here are a few I was reminded of with this thread.

Early/B&W Horror: The Universal Monster Movies (The Mummy, Dracula, Frankenstein, Invisible Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon).  Uninvited, I Walked with a Zombie, The Innocents, Night of the Living Dead, Vampyr, Carnival of Souls, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (more of a drama), Nosferatu, Freaks, Cat People (Val Lewton films), The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari,

Staples: Jaws, Psycho,Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, Candyman, Pumpkinhead, IT, Rosemary's Baby, The Thing, The Birds, Fright Night,

Series: Halloween, Hellraiser, Alien, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, Godzilla, all of the George A Romero zombie movies, The Fly, King Kong

Humorous & Absurdly Violent: Rocky Horror, Piranha,  Human Centipede, Terrifier, House (1977), House of 1000 Corpses, The Hunt, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Shaun of the Dead

Miscellaneous & Indie: The Others, The Brood, Scanners, Suspiria, My Bloody Valentine, Eyes Without a Face, Onibaba, Don't Look Now, Let The Right One In, Interview with a Vampire, Open Water, Sea Fever, Dracula (1992), The Hunger, Crimson Peak, The Skeleton Key, Angel Heart, The Wicker Man, The Devil's Rejects, Lords of Salem, The Night of the Hunter, Cube, The Cell

TV Series: The X-Files, Penny Dreadful, The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt, Tales from the Darkside, American Horror Story, Supernatural, True Blood, The Terror, Buffy, Twin Peaks, In Search Of,

Recent Films: It Follows, The Witch, Hereditary, Midsummer, Don't Breathe, The Invisible Man, Us, Lights Out, A Ghost Story (more of a drama), The Lighthouse, Swallow, We Are Still Here, Get Out, Annihilation, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Winchester, the Nun

Including all movies from each "universe" (couldn't pick just one movie :toofunny:):

1. The Conjuring

2. Insidious

3. Sinister

My two favorite from recent years were The Devil Made Me Do It and Annabelle Comes Home.
