Jennifer Hudson wins Daytime Emmy, becoming 1 award short of an EGOT

Jennifer Hudson won a Daytime Emmy Thursday for her role as executive producer in Baobab Studios’ “Baba Yaga,” putting her one award short of achieving EGOT status.

Jennifer already has an Oscar, winning for supporting actress in 2007 for her role in “Dreamgirls.” She also has 2 Grammy awards including Best R&B Album and Best Musical Theater Album. All she needs is the Tony Award to achieve the EGOT. And she came close in 2016, but was shockingly snubbed when the Broadway revival of “The Color Purple” landed four nominations with Hudson missing out.

oh wow! They're all playing a real person! I wonder how often an Oscar is won for portrayal of someone real vs a fictional character.

My husband has two Emmys for his photojournalism. Hopefully more next year for reporting and weather coverage. I made a thread about it when it happened.

That's so amazing!!  Does he have them displayed in your home? One of my ex-boyfriends' father actually had an Emmy and I remember it was displayed all nice on a shelf
