The fact that no one stepped in to remove this line, the fact that the artist really thought they were saying something cool with this line. But what do you expect coming from a guy who thought that Certified Lover Boy as a title for an album was anything other than cringey? Reminds of back in the day in school when straight guys would say “yeah, I’m a lesbian” because they thought it meant “someone who likes girls”. But in reality it’s supposed to be “a woman who likes women”. And then some people also interpret it as “being gay”. So.... But it’s just music. Obviously his persona is a straight male.
