I agree with her that Teenage Dream is indeed a perfect pop album, but more than one perfect pop album exists.

Her album surpasses Teenage Dream in quality, to me.

Somehow, my physical copy of Teenage Dream still hasn't completely lost that cotton candy smell. I don't know how they did that. It's very faint now, but it's still there.

That album, along with Femme Fatale and Born This Way, marked such a special time in my life, and I think that's true for many. Their releases were relatively close to each other from summer 2010 to 2011 and they really show how crazy good pop music was at the time.

Sometimes, I take that album out of its box just to see if that faint cotton candy smell is still there. Then I'm thankful that I got to enjoy those days so much.

that cotton candy scent was like my DRUG back in 2010

the scent is also very faint on my physical copy, oh how i wish it could stay there forever

I mean she’s right lol it has everything you want in a pop album from sex to partying to love, empowerment, anthems. It’s got it all and most importantly it’s *fun*. What works about it for KP is that it brings her humor and fun without overloading it and the songs are both easily digestible *and* standouts. It’s not like it’s my favorite album but if you’re looking at this from a more architectural metric, it has it all and does it all exceptionally well.

This gets brought up in my friend group once a month. It’s pure confection blending nostalgia, teen dreams, and the future whatever. It answers the call of, “If this is me now, who will I be tomorrow.” Also, Pearl is a standout for me.

It's a dang near perfect BUBBLEGUM pop album. Light, breezy, bops. But I can definitely think of better pop albums that might lean more dark, gothic, indie, etc. 

But whatevs. She's allowed to have her opinion.
