Uhmm... is that a famous quote?

It’s a popular saying. “It’s better to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission”

This is hands down her best album, not even a question. I also fear critics will undervalue it due to it being “Halsey” but damn what a strong record.

Anyone else feel like a lot of these songs are missing a big punchy chorus? Almost all of them feel like they are about to go really big but they never actually reach the climax.

I'm not really a Halsey fan, but I love this album. "I'm not a woman, I'm a god" is one of the best songs I've heard this year.

This album lowkey filled the void that I was expecting Lorde’s album to fill

I think that was quite purposeful. She spoke about how Nine Inch Nails and industrial music were big influences in the process of making the songs and even Trent Reznor who produced them said he wanted to move away from generic pop song structures.

I mean pop music isn’t the only genre with punchy choruses. These songs build up momentum and have like no chorus at all. It’s odd.
