Join the club! Let’s listen to 80s hits together. I'm almost 30 and I get most of it... but Olivia Rodrigo is just not for me. To me it's very teenagery music. I listen to the lyrics and it reminds me of when I was 17 and immature and innocent, and the things that were soooo important to me back then, and it just makes me cringe. Not at her or her music but at that feeling of being a teenager. And the punky, 'edgy' vibes just don't translate well to me either idk. That being said, good on her for taking the opportunities in front of her and gaining success! It's not bad music. It's just the first time I've heard a young artist and really been like yeah I can't like this. Getting old is different than what you expect... but it sure does happen. But then I remember yeah, she's just a kid, of course it's the most dramatic thing in the world to her I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
