HDD: Solar Power to debut at #3, Olivia's SOUR to sell over 80k vinyls

Olivia Rodrigo moves back into the #1 spot for a fifth non-consecutive week as vinyl sales of SOUR (Geffen) are expected to top 80k. 
Lorde’s Solar Power will debut in the Top 5. Aaliyah may all hit the Top 10, with deluxe, physical and reissued versions, respectively.

Album sales have really plummeted huh. I remember when multiple albums would be over 100k even SPS every week, now it'd be lucky for even ONE album to do that in a week.

Solar Power disappointed me a lot but it's not awful. Something felt missing or bland. 

Those numbers aren't that terrible though. She's been away for some time and was always a bit niche with her fan following after Royals.

The album is a disaster. Like what was she thinking. All the tracks sound half baked. After covid we don’t want half baked music. Is truly such a disappointment

Not surprised. There was not much buzz or excitement from the general public. 

And the album is a drastic change from her usual stuff so even people who enjoyed her past work (like me) aren’t into it.

Melodrama came out four years after PH and still got 109k first week. PH got 129k first week, which means a 15.5% fall across four years. Solar Power came out four years after Melodrama, and is projected, at best, to have 60k first week - a 44.95% fall. So, apart from the general fall of sales across the board and all (which doesn't make it impossible to crack 100k still), it's quite obvious Lorde is losing sales. Not that there's anything bad in that, just interesting to see.

This album is not IT, hopefully she fasttrack her next album.
