I'm probably gonna get flack for this but it makes me uncomfortable how popular her stream was just days after turning 18, even if she isn't making x-rated content - I'm sure a lot of the initial popularity was in the hope that she would be. It sort of reminds me of the headlines about how a Miley Cyrus s*x doll sold out when it went on sale as soon as she turned 18 and it was marketed to the buyers with: "Finally, it's Miley! Your wait is over."

I know in the eyes of the law an 18yo is an adult, but it's just so gross thinking of fully grown adult men counting down the days til someone is "legal"...when really the person is a teenager and they look no different from their 16 and 17yo peers. Obsession with youth is a problem anyway but the fetishisation of it, particularly when someone is still so young and is marketed as "barely legal", is so, so gross and I hate that it's allowed. We all know what "fetish" (for lack of a better word) is being sold. I'm getting off topic but I personally think people shouldn't be allowed to make adult content til they're 21 - I feel like if the law can stagger learning to drive, becoming a legal adult and being legally allowed to drink across the span of ages 16 - 21, then it can stagger the age of consent and the age someone can become an adult performer/make adult content.

In the US you can't have a drink of alcohol until 21, but when you're still in your teens you can sell the image of your naked or nearly-naked body, and people 20 years your senior are allowed to have s*x with you on camera? I know that's not the case here, but it obviously is in the wider world of adult content. It's such an imbalance of power and a thinly veiled way to perpetuate a child p*rn aesthetic. This isn't an attack on s*x work/workers, but it is an attack on an industry that should be more responsible about how it operates and the damage it can do. And in general, our cultural obsession with youth and looking young is setting everyone up for failure.
