Cher and Mariah have learned this, Barbra and Madonna have not, unfortunately. Just want to say that this is a flawless comment. I'm not saying Barbra's as bad as this based on one comment alone but I really appreciate you picking up on this general concept. This kinda attitude was ok back in the day but times have changed and the public want kind, relatable, humble celebrities now. There's a whole generation of women who found fame decades ago who have now become shady towards the newcomers and are bitter that they're no longer that shining star or that it girl anymore. I get it, aging is really hard on women in these industries but this isn't the way to go about it. Always being decent to everyone and boosting others up is what gets you far and will keep you revered. It's sad how some people can't wait until they become famous enough to the point where they feel they can look down on people and "school" them and think they know best. I think it's a generational thing as well, I see it in baby boomers and earlier. They tend to respect their generation's elders no matter how they behave, they seem to think they have a right to be snobby and stuck-up. The worst is when I see older women who just love putting down younger women. I would've thought that growing up during the peak of the feminist movement, they'd want to support other females. Younger generations have a shorter fuse on that front and are less likely to put up with being talked down to. If there's one thing that the future will bring us, it's less acceptance of these kinds of attitudes. I've noticed actually that female singers today really don't shade each other like they used to. Let's hope this continues.

Gaga honored her and covered her song beautifully (arguably better than the original) and then Linda went out of her way to make sure Gaga wasn't credited at the Emmys for TIHTY. The girls just can't stand when Gaga does what they did BETTER? I mean she doesn't have ill intentions it's not her fault that she's talented, amazing and beautiful. Soon as they see themselves being eclipsed or one-upped they switch! Yeah that Linda Perry thing was weird 😇

I don't think Cynthia raised her like that anyway. Baby Gaga tried it for a while as a defence mechanism but ultimately she's just a nice girl who doesn't like being mean bc after all she was bullied herself Now that doesn't mean ppl should expect her to be saintly. She's only human after all. But her first instinct is to be nice to people and expect it in return. 😇
