“Lady Gaga's dog walker is trekking across the country to try and heal his emotional wounds from the horrifying shooting ... and he says he's fallen on hard times.

Ryan Fischer says he's 2 months into a 6-month journey across America, which he's calling a sabbatical, but now he's crowdfunding ... because he says his van broke down and he needs money for travel expenses.

He says he's been relying on donations after blowing through his savings, and he's not just looking for money ... he's also asking folks to recommend retreats for trauma, plus queer spiritual leaders and healers.

Ryan says he's felt scared, lonely, abandoned and unsupported during his first 2 months on the road ... adding that he's had long bouts of depression, doubt and self-pity.

TMZ broke the story ... Ryan was shot back in February as robbers made off with Lady Gaga's French bulldogs, Koji and Gustav ... leaving Ryan bleeding on the sidewalk and screaming for help.

The dogs were ultimately found unharmed, and the LAPD later arrested 5 suspects for the attempted murder and dog heist.

Ryan says he had to get out of Hollywood, where he "fought for my life and mobility" after getting shot, and now he's devoted to strengthening his emotional and mental health.

He says he's seeking out communities supporting those healing from trauma, including retreat centers, trauma programs, queer healers, creatives and spiritual leaders ... but he needs help getting there now that his 1991 Ford Falcon van bit the dust.”

”Reading some of the comments and media spins on my journey has been quite jarring, and I think I need to clarify. I am grateful for all the ways I have been provided for in my recovery. I have nothing but gratitude in my heart for the care I received and the way I was supported. No one deserves any blame. Taking this time for myself is my choice and the journey I want to take is also my choice. I am giving myself space to recover. The way I breakdown and cry any time I perceive a dog is in danger, a car speeds by or a child screams… I’m still not in any shape to do a job I once was quite good at. Just getting through each day is difficult. It’s hard to explain what trauma does to a person, and I wish I could flip a switch and go back to the life I once knew and be with dogs I love…..But I can’t.

I’ve pondered if I told myself last year, “Ryan, you’re going to be shot and your whole life is going to change and you should MAYBE save a little of your money instead of giving to causes, friends affected by the pandemic, and, definitely not spend so much on takeout and wine,” would I have done anything differently? I don’t think I would have…. Okay maybe not sooo much takeout. And, fine, the wine too.

So it’s these choices of my past and the current ones I am making to heal that have taken me to this point. Going on this unconventional journey of healing is a terrifying joy, sharing it with you because it feels purposeful for all those who have suffered trauma and might benefit from the tools that I learn along the way…. That is a joy. I am going on this journey, because I need to do the work to heal - and it is hard work. I am on a mission, and donations or support of any kind are welcomed because I absolutely am in need of them, but no one needs to be blamed for my circumstances, and I also don’t see how victim blaming is productive (some people can be really mean… I mean, honestly!). I know I will be okay as I continue to find my way. As I said, there is nothing but gratitude in my heart for what has already been given. I love you, and thank you for all the support you have already shown and given me throughout this process. I am beyond humbled.”

Well I hope he finds the healing he needs.

As for the money part, I’m sure Gaga did what she could to support him but sounds like he’s blown through a lot of money & traveling/retreats/etc. are expensive. We can’t know the full story here and of course people will make assumptions based on scarce details.

I'll just say it. He's really set her up to be dragged to hell for this. Nobody knows what financial assistance she gave him (I mean she's clearly paid for his medical bills considering he's not asking for those to be paid too), we saw him visiting her not long before he went on this trip. What happened to him was awful but why would you go off travelling for 6 months if you weren't set up financially? 

And like... He is the one who chose to leave to travel around on his own. To say he was abandoned and unsupported feels a little dramatic.

I'm sorry but anyone who 'defends' Gaga's involvement (or potential lack of) here is being utterly biased. Gaga has millions of dollars and I would really hope that any employee (or sub-contractor) of hers is able to benefit from that. Ryan should absolutely not be in financial dire-straits. He just shouldn't. And before anyone says we don't know the full picture... what we do know is Ryan doesn't have enough money right now. Isn't that enough?

Not really. Maybe she paid his medical bills and then he refused to accept anything else from her. You don't know.

Maybe she did offer him but he didn't want it because he wanted to do this on his own?

Gaga to me always makes the impression that she is a very generous person, so I'm having a hard time believing that she wouldn't offer him some money for a healing journey like that. The only explanation to me would be that he did not want any more from her. (But I could be wrong - I literally have no idea)

 

The thing is: We can all speculate right now - but the fact is we all don't really know anything about what's going on. So I'm gonna leave it at that.

Agree. I noticed none of the haus have liked his post (last time I checked anyway).. It's easy to judge and like you say I can't imagine a scenario where Gaga would voluntarily leave him high and dry.

Yeah I don't know. I hate to criticize him, but it's been widely reported Gaga paid his medical bills—and he's not asking for money for his medical bills—and she frankly probably paid "more" to avoid any potential legal issues. I know people also raised like 20k for him on GoFundMe.

It really sounds like he just blew through a bunch of money. And yeah, Gag is going to get dragged for this because people will see "crowdfunding" and assume she didn't pay his medical bills. Although the dragging might be minimal because there is a lot of other, more important **** going on.

If Gag's PR was better (they aren't the greatest sometimes) they'd offer him a couple hundred k right now.

Exactly…his move looks like Gaga gave him nothing and people are dragging her for being the rich mean boss who doesn’t care about their employee

I mean, I've criticized Gaga on R Kelly and other things. But it's been widely reported she paid his medical bills, there's a 95% chance she gave him more money to avoid any possible legal issues (lawsuits for emotional distress, etc.), and there was also a Go Fund Me that raised like 20k for him.

What happened to him was horrific, but it does sound like he just ran through a lot of cash. For real, even if Gaga was the biggest b*tch in the world or the kindest person in the world the chance that her legal team didn't cut him a big fat check to avoid emotional distress lawsuits, as I mentioned above, is VERY slim.

I feel terrible for him, but at the same time realistically it's like...should she have just handed him a million bucks instead of paying his medical bills and probably 100k I'm guessing...not to mention the GoFundMe money.

Anyway, her PR can be shitty sometimes but if the have any common sense they'll cut him another check.
