I’m sure CDs will make a comeback too. People want to be connected to the music - I went to just streaming except Gaga albums but now I’m starting to get vinyls of my favorite albums. RichAssPiss 4,993
The drop in streaming vs. strong physical sales says something interesting about her evolving audience. I think she's getting taken more seriously by audiophiles and music heads but has lost some of the casual teen streamers who just wanted more of the same. I think it's a good sign for her longevity. The latter audience is fickle while the former audience are long-haulers.

Unless CD’s can become more visually appealing than vinyl, then I highly doubt that will happen. The vinyl resurgence has everything to do with aesthetics and collecting. Which is a great business to get into because it’s not relying on a new technical advancement that makes listening to the music easier. The only reason to sell a CD now is to do it on the basis of it being the best quality of the album, but even that is becoming taken over by lossless and master recordings on streaming. If vinyls all started becoming standard with gatefold and big booklets then they would really devour any CD market that is left.

And that’s all fine and good, but there is also a small resurgence of cassette tapes which are even less visually appealing than CD’s but it’s coming back because that is what postmodernism is all about - aesthetics from the past. I believe CD sales will continue to decrease over the next couple of years but in the next 10/15 years there will probably be a resurgence for that 90s/00s trend and they are smaller/less expensive than vinyls but still give visuals to the album. And are great for collectors.

Juanlittlem 47,248
She has like 10 different versions of coloured vinyls so I can see collectors buying all of them. I would if I liked Billie. Estàvem al cel, ara estem a l'infern

Not enough people like her or her music for this claim to be true. No shade just tea. Are you claiming that her record label created 20M accounts to like her photos on Instagram?
