Reginald 13,841
This is extremely creepy. Online privacy is dead, and ped*s will find another way to be gross. Edit: not an Apple user, just chiming in under the assumption that every other big tech entity also behaves this way.
PartySick 172,997
Eh...I agree with this: 19 minutes ago, Reginald said: ped*s will find another way to be gross. ^ I'd rather not give up my privacy for a temporary and false sense of security. I already think they go way too far collecting our info purely for commercial/advertising reasons. I definitely wouldn't want them snooping through stuff on my phone Whimsical bitch

socotra 3,357
I really, really don’t know how to feel about this. on the surface, it sounds like a good idea, but it delegates an incredible amount of discretion and judgement to a company without much oversight. if it works perfectly, 100% of the time, I see no issue, but given how well Apple Maps works, I doubt it. Seems like a mess waiting to happen.
Anderson123 42,746
I want to say this is good news in a perfect world but this is Apple and somehow it's gonna get messy, idk. Technology is scary sometimes and I wouldn't be surprised if hackers, criminals and even dirty cops? find a way to frame these pictures into people's devices to get them into jail or something. Like, it's gonna be really bad for innocent people. I don't know if I watch a lot of these tv shows and movies but whenever we think justice works, it can get twisted and used for something bad. LostBoyfriend 1,133
I hope this thing doesn't get the green light. This will become basically a back door to hackers. So some, instead of finding will be planted, or just used as a way to scan/control another phone. So no, not even mentioning that user's privacy is getting violated to the extreme. Like I'd get it if they'd scan their cloud service only and the phone, since the cloud it's a service one buys, but the phone is a product I payed fully for. So no, this is a tragedy, not as much as CP but it's a slippery rope. Besides, FBI has been effectively putting beehives to catch predators/creators of CP, I remember vaguely in the past 2 years there have been major arrests (as in ¹⁰⁰s) to these awful beings, so I don't get this. GodofLove 25
There was a lot a privacy talk recently about Apple How are they able to violate privacy concerns? Breaking the law is what Apple seems to be doing. This means they could, had, and in a way spy on any individual on Earth, that is the real situation we are talking. ;Maybe a lil bit extreme on behalf of Apple. Is that really the job of a company like Apple? There has been granted a-lot of power of privacy, to such everyday tools everyone can't function with; what will the future hold.
